Luis's Journey
In January 2018, I initiated the Formula SAE project at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus, assembling a dedicated team to design and build a race car from the ground up. This project was aimed at providing fellow students with valuable hands-on learning and real-world experience in constructing a student-grade race car. I was fortunate to receive full support from Formula 1 and Autodesk for this endeavor. One of the highlights of this journey was the incredible opportunity to present a prototype of my Formula-style car to Formula 1 executives, including Richard Cregan, the current CEO of the Miami F1 Grand Prix, during a showcase at the Miami Dade College Makers Lab.
In my academic journey a thing I could highlight is my continuous growing interest in Aerospace Engineering and the Material Science behind it. Throughout my time I have spent in MDC and FIU I have acquired a lot of hands-on and theoretical skills from my projects such as 1)Microgravity Drop Vehicle, 2)Vertical Landing Rocket and a 3)Liquid Propellant Rocket Engine. With these projects I have developed a solid foundation in the areas such as Computational Design, Control Systems, FEA Analysis, CFD Analysis, DfAM (Design for Additive Manufacturing) and Metal 3D-printing.

Meet the Founders:
Juan – With a rich background in automotive engineering, Juan initiated the Formula SAE project at Miami Dade College. His leadership in assembling a team to design and build a Formula-style car from scratch not only provided valuable hands-on learning but also connected him with major industry players like Formula 1 and Autodesk. Juan’s expertise in design and fabrication, combined with his passion for teaching others, defines the spirit of our team’s commitment to creating high-quality, innovative solutions.
Luis – An aspiring aerospace engineer, Luis brings an extensive background in aerospace engineering and material science. His experience spans across projects like the Microgravity Drop Vehicle, Vertical Landing Rocket, and Liquid Propellant Rocket Engine. His technical foundation in areas like CFD analysis, metal 3D printing, and computational design makes him a key player in advancing the innovative solutions we offer at Luda Technologies.
